When in fact there has been less military deaths during his time in office then Bill Clinton.
Bill Clinton: non war administration 4417
George Bush 3133
I served both in Iraq/Afghanistan and for whatever reason the President made that decision I believe was the correct one. We must stay the course and not leave until our mission is accomplished and Iraq/Afghanistan can live in freedom.http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news…

I’d have to agree with you. I’m 15 years old and my uncle has served in the Iraq war. He said he thinks it was a good choice. I find it hilarious how the democrats think it’s a bad idea. What I really want to know is..should we just stand around and let the middle east bomb us? Or do something about it. People should join the military for the right reasons. My uncle has sole custody of his kids, and he didnt have to go to Iraq because of that, but he chose to because he made a commitment to America. He joined the military for the right reasons, and was all for the war. Also, because Bush thought that there were weapons of mass destruction over there, he decided to go and take care of it. They have videos from secret surveillance of them moving huge containers because they knew we were coming. Then when the weapons weren’t there America freaked out. The war was a positive thing, and right now we’re helping them build up their government again. I love how our country will run to help fix everything going on in Darfur right now, but wont go against the terrorists who are bombing us, as well as there own people. Im completely pro war. Nothing too bad is going on right now anyway. My uncle sends us pictures all the time of him and a bunch of other soldiers just hanging out with the children over there, they love it. Also, i really appreciate you fighting for our country, thank you.
Because people are idiots who just follow the trend of hating on Bush and who don’t know the real reason we are at war. They think that somehow theres going to be a draft, when there is no way that could ever happen. Also, they have the misconception that troops are forced to go to Iraq when we are at a 100% voluntary force.God bless you for your military service and I strongly agree with your political beliefs.
Your facts are not factual. More than 4,000 have died in Iraq alone. Comparing non-combat peace time accidental deaths to combat war deaths is disgraceful.
because some people are paying attention like good citizens should, you are no one of them apparently.
wake up and smell the coffee
Marine, get your head out of your fourth point of contact!!! There are less deaths under bush than clinton? Get real and check your facts. THIS BS has been debunked on Snopes even. You said bush has only gotten 3133 killed? Hell, in this fiasco there have been over 4,000 killed alone.
Under Clinton there were 7,500 deaths listed. Bush has gotten killed 8,792 through 2006. Now add in 2007 & 2008. He has gotten a LOT of people killed. He made a flawed decision, based on his beliefs, that have us in a war. That alone is unforgivable.
Retired Soldier.
Some people? How about 81% of Americans and 92% of the rest of the world. Since you blindly accept Bush’s decision, I will not bore you with facts or details.
it is because people wish it would end and they believe there is no way we can win even thought we did win in the first week and it is really the clean up that is keeping us from leaving.
Your numbers are a bit off. Using your link as a source, I make 5935 from 1993-1998 and 7033 from 2001-2006. I only used the first 6 years of Clinton’s terms because the chart only goes up to 2006, and I wanted to use a comparable length of time. Even so, I don’t know if those numbers for 2006 are complete.
As far as why people disagree, there are a lot of reasons. Some include:
- partisan politics
- media concentrating almost exclusively on bad news out of Iraq
- people not paying attention to the reasons behind going into Iraq
- people who think that the US shouldn’t care about state-sponsored terrorism UNLESS it involved Al Queda prior to 2002.
- people who think we shouldn’t be trying to aid the development of a stable Iraqi government
