I have some questions about becoming a Marine, and I’d like to talk to a Marine Recruitment Officer through email. I’ve found a few websites that require your phone number, but I’d rather not have them calling my house. Does anyone have an email I can use to contact one?
Just give a fake phone number. However, they might not bother to email you if the phone turns out to be a dead end.
Your other (better) option would be to go to a recruiter’s office. Just tell them you aren’t comfortable giving your phone number out (give any reason you want if they press you, such as parents finding out, don’t even own a phone, etc).
Just give them your number they’ll only call you untill you sit down and talk with them. Upon someone requesting information the recruiter is required by his superiors to sit down and have an interview with the person who’s interested…no paper work gets done and absolutely no committment is made unless the enlistee wants too. After that initial meeting they leave you alone until you show more interest. You should just walk or drive down to the local recruiter.
Yeah, you definitely don’t want recruiters hounding you every 5 seconds (annoying as hell). I agree with the first person. Either give them the wrong # or just be straight up with the recruiter. Tell them you simply want questions answered and you don’t want to be hounded by them. My brother had a horrible experience with a Marine recruiter who, not only showed up at our house, but followed him to school and to the mall once. He did the smart thing and joined the Army instead.
