why are most of the usmc killed in action in iraq dated during the heaviest fighting such as the battles for Fallujah.?..most usmc deaths always come from the times when the most heaviest fighting occurred…you have periods where several months go by without a usmc kia..
and before you ask me for my sources i have read the list of kia’s and i matched up dates..the more heavier battles resulted in the more usmc deaths..this is what im asking.
why is this.? is it just bad luck or what? thanks
I would guess..
That the marines are called in for the major battles..
Because they are trained to be “badazz”..
When there are no major battles? Then marines are doing more “secure” duties.. Inside the base maybe?
Other KIA’s in Iraq, seem mostly from IED’s. Army reserves and guard hold those jobs..
Because Marines are amphibious assault and they have heavy casualties in a short period of time. The Army is used to defend a perimeter or occupy land and that is why they take losses from snipers or IEDs.
Marines are extremely well trained infantry — they do a good job of taking care of each other. Spikes in casualties correlated around major battles aren’t at all unusual — more bodies and more bullets in the same place means more KIAs.
