I am 16 I play sports I have tried the Navy Seal challenge for recruitment and have done it. I did not do it with a recruiter but alone. I’m not sure which will lead you to more opportunities. What will they both bring you? Which do you recommend? I am a good student with a 3.2 GPA and around a 1650 on the SATs if these matter. Thanks!
Well depends, if you like more covert , top secrete, dangours missions, navy seals. Only thing is that, Training is long and hard. And if so your deployment could be anywhere. Also you have to cope with harsh conditions. But you well get to use some awesome weapons and learn Amazing things including self defense and skydiving! 1 more thing, chances are you will be fighting around the world agnist enemys you dint even know where enemys!
If you like keeping things in control, being a little more public and protecting civilians then Marine core it is. You will be moving around rapidly and problay have a little more air support to help you out. But your enemy could be a little harder to see. Plus if you find Bin lader, you get to kick his ***!
This is just my idea of the whole thing, researching is the best thing you can do.
Also the marines have a lot of areas, like tanks, Fighter, Turret, Helicopter. They also have Special forces like force recon so make sure your RESEARCH!!!!!
1. Learn to spell Corps!
The rest, its not so much how smart you are rather than your physicall ability when its comes to both.
I know the Seals do require there men do be well educated though.
They are both completely different though.
The Marine Corps is a regular branch of the military just like the Army or Navy. If you go active you will be working like full time job.
The Seals on the other hand is special ops. That is going to involve a little more hectic schedule. Also a little undercover activity, and some counter terrorism.
I would suggest getting in incredible shape, your young so you have time, try running a lot. You can contact a recruiter a couple months before your 17th birthday and they will work with you.
First its Marine Corp. The corp is amazing for a self motivated quick on your feet selfless person. My understanding with the navy seals is that you have to be in the navy first and then move on and try out for the seals. What if you get in the Navy and don’t make it to the seals?? Now the Marine Corp as a whole is a very structured intense branch of the military. Marines will definately be more apart of land warefare and combat. You need to figure out what you want to get out of teh military first.
It is not “Core” nor “Corp”….it is Corps (as in Latin for a unity, or group). SEALs are a special ops in the Navy. The Marine Corps is a whole separate branch, but under the Department of the Navy. Either one doesn’t give a crap about your GPA or SAT scores; very irrelevant. They only care about your GT score on your AFQT that you made on the ASVAB.
Sports won’t help…it takes mental power. I’ve seen muscle-bounded, “no-neck” guys wash out within the first month in BUD/S. The ones that have the mental capacity and endurance makes it…and mostly they were the skinny guys.
To begin with it is the Marine Corp, with a P. Secondly GPA and SAT is irrelevant. They both offer you the same challenge. The factor you need to put into it is What you want to do within the those two services. that will tell you your answer!
