Mass respect to the USMC, my grandfather retired 1949-1969. Korean war vet…unfortunately, because of my criminal idiocy, they don’t want me. But, the army does. Anyhow, what do they think of all the grunts in Iraq/Afghanistan right now?

If the Army wants you but the Marines don’t, be weary of what jobs are available to you.
As for the “respect” question, who carries ‘em around in a wheelbarrow? It is not like that. When you have a job to do, you do it. For everyone it is different. Some times you work with other branche/agencies, sometimes you will be huddled with the same 4 people for a year. As for me, I work with some of the best members of other services. We all give each other good natured hell, but it is mutually accepted and respected we are all equally the best at what we do as part of the mightiest force in the world.
most recruiters can take care of petty criminal paperwork, and get you out of trouble unless of course you commited some extremely serious crime. Army recruiters will go through the trouble of taking care of that paperwork, Marines won’t. Marines are nothing without the Army and vice versa. All the branches need one another to be completely efficient. Although there are some Marines with the holier than thou attitude. That’s where you get the good bar fights you always see in movies lol.
its mainly a pride thing, which is good for the soul! i have fought with some jar heads in 1969 and they hold there own and so does the army. to many good men and women have died in so many wars i dont think its a fair question! yes the usmc has a higher level ! but they are what they stand for and iam so very proud of all of them even as a army veteran, we all do our part and to stick all of us in one battle field i feel so sorry for the other side , and you want to know why? because we would fight even harded to out due one another for bragging rights and the poor bastards who tryed to beat us end up on the dead list, its all good and yes we all work well in the field, but now put us in a bar and a few beers and someone opens there mouth?? well i guess alot of sore bodys for the next roll call! LOL go usmc and us army and all other branches!!GOD bless America!!
Because USMC work harder that Anrmy. USMC is the real Military than the other. It’s more challenging.

Most of them will deny that they are glad to have us, but deep down I know they are glad we are on their side.

The Marine Corps is incapable of sustaining a battle (remember Fallujah) It is a mutual fight that the Corps is expeditionary, and the Army assumes battlespace and sustains mission. We are part of the same team.Also remeber that the Commanding Generals for Southwest Asia is and has been Army, so technicnally, the Marines are working for Army Green.
