My daughter’s class wants to adopt some soldier’s. They would prefer to adopt soldiers who don’t have family or at least limited family to send them things. They want all of our soldiers to know they are loved and appreciated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Here are some great sites and sources to help you:http://soldiersangels.org/index.php?page…http://www.americasupportsyou.com/Americ…http://www.operationmilitarypride.org/http://www.anysoldier.com/WhereToSend/http://www.mysoldier.com/register.htm

Yahoo Group that you can join:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/StarSuppor…
( I have been part of this group for almost 5 years and these ladies are great. They have supported my husband through his deployments to Iraq many times).
And once you get started with one here are some ideas on what to send. These are some general things but once you get to know your soldier, you can send things that they really, really like:http://www.adoptaplatoon.org/new/pdf/car…http://www.geocities.com/militarycarepac…http://www.operationmilitarypride.org/pa…http://www.militarywives.com/index.php/c…
Here is the United States Postal Service site and they have restrictions and such:
usps.com/supportingourtroops/
The U.S. Postal Service introduced a Military Care Kit, or “Mili-kit” for military families and friends to send care packages to their loved ones stationed overseas. Each kit contains two Priority Mail boxes, six Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes, eight Priority Mail labels, one roll of Priority Mail tape and eight customs forms with envelopes.
This kit may be ordered by calling the USPS Expedited Package Supply Center at 1-800-610-8734. There is no charge for the kit. The Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes included in the kit can be shipped to any APO/FPO in the world, regardless of weight, for $8.10. They also now offer another shipping option for more weight for about $1 more to APO/FPO addresses.
Hope this info helps you out and you get something from it.
Thanks for thinking of our deployed men and women. I know hubby tells me that there is nothing like hearing your name at mail call.
You’ve got some great links here! But it’s http://www.soldiersangels.org and you can adopt a soldier there. You can purchase all your items to ship to him/her also on the site and it’s shipping and handling free! Plus, it’s all tax deductible. There’s a lot of other projects you can be members of too. It’s a great way to get involved and help. My 6th grade sunday school class adopted a soldier last spring. We got a letter back too. They really appreciate the contact, so God bless you and your class!!
Here is a list of different organizations that you can look at: http://www.americasupportsyou.mil/Americ…
Anysoldier.com might work. I know it lists addresses for soldiers and it lists things the soldiers are requesting for their care packages.

I was in Iraq for 2 tours and both times my unit used anysoldier.com
I highly recommend it.
