im looking for the name of the communications radio carried by radio men up to the 1990’s in the usmc..
-what was the radio called?
-what was the battery that went in it?
-what was the crypto gear that encrypted this radio?
-what was the batter called for the crypto gear?
the radio is not used anymore and was last used near the year 1996 or 7….its the vietnam era radio..thanks

Let me put on my thinking cap here..
-the radio used by radio men is the PRC 77 in that time. It was replaced by the SINGARS
-it uses a magnesium battery called the BA 4386..its a huge and heavy battery
-I forget the name of the crypto gear but it uses a lithium battery called the BA 5590..It might be called the KY 57..and you use the KYK 13 to load that,
